Vehicle Description With war-time production ending in 1946, Cadillac was ready to resume automobile production.
Demand was high for the only available cabriolet body style for the Series 62.
Cadillac had few styling changes for 1946, since the design was so successful before the war ceased car manufacturing.
The only changes in first post-war Series 62 included the location and shape of the driving lights and a front logo with the Cadillac crest within a large V.
In 1946, 1,342 Cadillac Convertible Coupes were produced with a price tag of $2,556.
The Series 62 convertible featured a notchback body and fat bullet fenders.
The engine was a 346 cid L-head V8 with 150 horsepower.
This iconic Series 62 convertible has all the options available for the 1946 model:
whitewall tires with full hubcaps, dual side mirrors, windshield washers and back up light.
Additional options include windshield washers and a backup light.
The new tan canvas convertible top is hydraulic; it goes up and down nicely and without hesitation.
This lovely Cadillac has been under the same family stewardship since 2000.
It has been expertly maintained by Capaldi Enterprises in Willoughby, Ohio, and all maintenance records are available for inspection.
Repainted in 2003, the exterior gleams in its original Madeira Maroon, and the interior burgundy leather shows a nice patina.
The carpets are burgundy plush.
All gauges are bright and clean, and everything (including the heater/defroster) work, except the radio.
The power windows and seat work well.
The chrome brightwork is in excellent condition.
This includes the massive chrome grill, which is in great condition with no usual pitting.
All body panels are straight, and the glass is clear with no delamination.
The engine compartment is unusually clean and tidy for a car that has been used on a regular basis during good weather.
The undercarriage appears to be original with no unusual wear.
A set of Diamondback radials have been installed, with the original spare still in the trunk.
Recognized as a Full Classic by the CCCA, it achieved a score of 94.
25 at a CCCA Grand Classic event.
This lovely Cadillac is ready to go and should give the new owner many miles of touring enjoyment.
Along with being a powerful tour car, it will do its owner proud at any CCCA event or local show.
