Vehicle Description When Packard resumed production after World War II, its 1946 and 1947 model years debuted the 21st series.
New grille characteristics went on to influence later designs, and the new models were a perfect blend of style and sophistication.
At the top of the line was the Custom Super Clipper Eight Touring Sedan, featuring special carpeting, luxurious upholstery, distinctive interior trim and stunning simulated wood grain paneling.
Lending it even more cachet is the fact that 1947 was the last year the Classic Car Club of America accepted the Custom Super Clipper Sedan as a Full Classic.
In addition, it enjoys strong collector appeal, since only 5,690 were built for 1947.
This limited-edition luxury sedan is a top-of-the-line Packard and truly is one of the nicest-driving CCCA Classics on the road today.
Since its frame-on restoration 20 years ago, this exceptional Super Clipper has continually been upgraded.
Mechanical work completed in 2014 is detailed with over $40,000 in receipts.
Recent work includes a rebuilt starter motor, mechanical fuel pump, generator and carburetor.
Fluids are changed yearly, using only Classic Car Club motor oil.
The Atlantic Blue Metallic exterior, gleaming chrome and beautiful blue cloth interior with beige piping are basically flawless.
The headliner is correct for the Custom Super Clipper, with the seams running front to back as opposed to the standard right to left.
The simulated wood grain is exquisite.
Optional equipment includes dual heaters, fog lamps, back-up lamps, front and rear bumper guards and dual side view mirrors.
The last owner upgraded to a quartz clock and AM/FM radio while using the original face.
The dashboard and all gauges are clear and work well, and all lights and turn signals are in good working order.
