Summary:
Seeking an experienced tax professional with advanced knowledge of sales tax compliance, audit, and planning. Individual should have leadership acumen and will be expected to lead, educate, inspire, and mentor both local and remote tax associates.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manage tax compliance responsibilities for sales/use taxes, including negotiation and administration of sales/use tax audits, assessments and appeals.Develop improved tax reporting systems and streamline the flow of sales/use tax data through efficient automated processes. Maximize efficient utilization of sales/use tax compliance software.Monitor and test use tax accrual activity and maintain accounting reconciliations. Conduct reverse sales/use audits, while researching new laws, court decisions, rulings, regulations, and proposed legislation related to sales/use taxes and pursue tax planning strategies in order to pay the lowest legally allowable tax.Initiate and develop sales/use tax planning recommendations tied to company activities, lead/assist on special projects, and partner with other tax disciplines.Lead other tax associates through education, inspiration and mentoring. Perform all other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA, MBA, CMI, Masters in Taxation, or any combination of these is preferred. Experience : A minimum of 10 years public accounting or corporate sales/use tax experience, including audit management responsibility. Skills: Solid working knowledge of SAP, and ideally Oracle, as well.Experience with Sales/Use Tax software Vertex O preferred.Good analytical and communications skills.Well-developed negotiation and written and oral communication skills.
