Summary:
RINA is responsible for the investment strategy and investment manager oversight for retirement assets and liabilities of operating companies throughout Nestl in the USA, ensuring that investments are managed consistently with the overall Nestl Group strategy. RINA services other Nestl groups in shared service arrangements and works cooperatively to provide expertise to the operating companies, as well as partners with Nestl Capital Advisers (NCA).
The Manager - Retirement Investments is a key position that performs activities that provide management and decision making support to the Director - Retirement Investments. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing compliance with investment and financial reporting requirements, ensuring successful audit outcomes, and managing critical vendor relationships. The incumbent will need to successfully interact with senior level professionals such as Investment Committee members, senior banking and legal professionals, investment managers, consultants and internal and external auditors. The incumbent will evaluate current investment and regulatory conditions to adjust policy and mitigate risk, and drive improvements within the department and from vendors. The incumbent will need to work cooperatively with global Nestl partners. The incumbent will be the primary backup to the Director, and must be able to evaluate and appropriately address issues in the Director's absence. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Manage all investment portfolio related finance activities for Pension and Savings plans including investment requirements for all internal and external Corporate and Benefit Plan audits. Produce annual plan financial statements, footnotes and investment schedules for the Form 5500 tax filings. Coordinate all aspects of US GAAP reporting policy implementation and ongoing compliance as they relate to Investments - determine scope, recommend steps required to ensure compliance with current and new standards, develop procedures to support required processes and satisfy the audit requirements of all impacted financial reporting. Coordinate with tax services provider for the timely and accurate filing of UBTI Schedule K 1's for applicable investments. o Support F&C, RINA and Group Pensions in actuarial matters related to funding policy and contributions, asset/liability management, coordinating with the Company and its Actuary to deliver year-end disclosure, annual funding notices and CEBE reporting. o Provide analytical services and support to Director - Retirement Investments and NCA for investment strategy initiatives, private market investments and other investment activities such as securities lending, special situations, risk management, tax and compliance. Serve as the ERISA and fiduciary issues specialist for the department. o Oversee rebalancing and performance reporting for the Nestl in the USA COLI portfolios. Liaise with COLI oversight provider, brokers, policy administrators, trustees, Finance & Control, and Treasury to ensure proper management of COLI assets and hedging of deferred compensation liabilities. o Provide full administration services to the charitable foundations' portfolios. Monitor investment manager performance and guidelines, trustee, spending budget compliance, investigate tax and legal matters, and render annual board reporting. o Manage Strategic Partners and Service Providers to established service level standards. Develop and monitor KPI reporting to monitor service delivery. o Manage analyst(s) according to Nestl Total Performance Measurement System (TPMS) for optimal performance and staff development outcomes. o Identify opportunities and develop improvement plans for departmental efficiencies. Drive vendor automation, justify and standardize functions, integrate technology updates into processes. Other projects as required. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

This position currently manages one direct report. Ability to manage complex projects and various disciplines FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT: Drives continuous process improvement. Provides accurate analysis of information on a timely basis for decision support. Provides accurate analyses and well thought out recommendations for informed decision-making by senior management. Controls financial and reputation loss risks by ensuring audit and compliance requirements are met.
BASIC/ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
o BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting required
o Minimum of 5 years experience in retirement investment or related field required
o Requires some (minimal) travel up to 5% PREFERRED
Qualifications:
o Certification in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) or CFA candidate highly desirable
o Investment and/or Trust Bank industry experience
