Position Summary This role will lead group of forward-thinking and knowledgeable Regulatory & Scientific Affairs professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to be business partner with the commercial teams and engage Marketing, Sales, and the Technical Applications Group on the front end to enable speed to market in our products. Guide a team of Senior Specialists and Specialists supporting a variety of categories, including Prepared Foods and potential 'flex' resourcing on other categories/brands as needed. This role allows one to build and drive the Nestle RSA strategy in alignment with organizational priorities and lead your team to implement to enable new business ventures aligned with (USDA, FDA, etc.) regulations. Advise the execution of regulatory assessments in Innovation & Renovation leading to compliance and business collaboration by design of ingredients, labels, claims and communications. Lastly, this role will require to actively engage internally with Global RSA in Switzerland, regulatory specialists in Nestle R&D and externally with US regulatory authorities, selected trade associations and other team members as needed. Nestle USA will use your expertise to stay ahead of industry trends and engage with the business to facilitate market entry into new/white space industries. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Attract and develop required capabilities to deliver upon one, several or all regulatory strategic functions. Build a winning, results driven team, thinking and acting 'people' first. Ensure, through mentoring and training that the regulatory team demonstrates entrepreneurship and business partnership. Ability to work within cross-functional teams and support innovation and advocacy projects. Ensure compliance of ingredients, labels, claims and communication with external regulations and Nestle Standards. Ensures all claims are appropriately substantiated and documentation maintained. Ensure robust and flawless approval processes for labeling and communication material (Label-D, DE vex). Fast and reliable issue resolution in area of responsibility; brief senior leadership ahead of issues round table. Requirements:
Requires BS/BA, preferably in nutrition and/or food science or legal, MS/MA preferred. In-depth knowledge of the US food regulations is a plus. Ability to quickly gain knowledge of Nestle business strategy, organization, policies and instructions related to regulatory. People management and a driven ability to encourage, lead, and empower teams. 7-10 years' experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, nutrition or product development, with significant direct experience with FDA and/or USDA, preferably in the food & beverage industry. 5

$100K -- $150K
